Lors de la première étape disputée entre Dreux et Nogent-le-Rotrou, il franchit en seconde position la ligne d’arrivée juste derrière l’Australien Sam Spokes (EFC-Omega Pharma-Quick Step),  le Belge Thomas Sprengers (Lotto-Belisol U23) prend la 3e place.
